Description
The Evzones are an elite military unit that today serve as Presidential Guards. The regiment was formed in 1868 and constitutes part of the Greek National Identity.
Their bravery during the Balkan Wars and the two World Wars earned them an almost god-like reputation.
The “Evzonas” was created by the famous Greek Sculptor Praxitelis Tzanoulinos, who brought out not only the shape, but also the soul of the Evzones as well.
The final touch was contributed by the young artist Vasilis Mixopoulos, who accurately painted the traditional uniform.
